Originally from Melbourne, Australia, Fee McToal has built a reputation for stunning, handcrafted headwear. Her love of fashion and design began as a teenager, where she discovered the transformative power of a hat. “A headpiece can lift confidence, add elegance and make someone feel truly unique.”
After redundancy, a family friend encouraged Fee to put her sewing skills to use. By chance, she was offered a space in the Designerie. It was the perfect fit. “Launching my business was a way to bring my passion to life, offering bespoke designs that aren’t just accessories, but expressions of individuality.”
Her Designerie pod gave Fee more than just a workspace. It gave her the ideal setting, where customers could see and try her designs and a community of makers who shared the same challenges and joys. “The Designerie provided me with such a beautiful space to showcase my work, but it gave me something beyond what I even thought when I initially joined – a lovingly supportive creative community, that encouraged and inspired me every day. Never underestimate the power of what others can do for you and your business.”
From elegant wedding commissions to bold race-day statements and quirky creations for special occasions, Fee’s designs have travelled far and wide. From the Melbourne Cup to Windsor Castle, and even a secret elopement. Each headpiece is handcrafted with care, intention and passion.
Alongside commissions, Fee offers hat alterations, rentals and quirky jewellery. Her work is intricate, creative and always personal.
As demand grew, Fee needed more space. In May 2023, she moved into Enterprise Causeway’s Acorn Business Centre in Ballymoney. “This space has allowed me to expand further, welcome even more customers and grow further.”
