Space to Breathe: Connect Her Wellbeing Workshop Brings Calm to Bushmills

23 September 2026

On Wednesday morning, women from across the Causeway Coast gathered at The Courthouse Shared Space Creative Hub in Bushmills for Space to Breathe, a wellbeing workshop designed to help working women and business owners’ step back from daily pressures and focus on their wellbeing.

The event was delivered in collaboration with Enterprise Causeway's Connect Her, a local support network for female founders and women in the workplace across the Causeway Coast.

The workshop was led by Jenny Morris of Wise Sole Reflexology and Shauna McMullan of JED Yoga and Holistic Therapies. Together they founded The Holistic Healing Programme. For two hours, they offered working women and business owners something that is often missing from a busy week: a chance to pause.

Talking openly about stress

A key theme of the morning was stress: how it builds up, how it shows up in the body and mind, and why it matters to recognise it. Whether employed, leading a team or running a business, many women carry significant responsibilities without realising the impact this can have on their wellbeing.

Jenny and Shauna encouraged attendees to be honest with themselves about the pressure they feel. Naming stress is the first step to managing it.

The conversation then turned to staying calm in daily life. Attendees looked at simple, realistic ways to steady themselves when demands pile up, whether that is before a difficult meeting, during a busy shift or at the end of a long day.

Practical tools to take home

Jenny and Shauna gave attendees practical tools for meditation, for spotting stress early and for managing how they feel throughout the day.

  • Breathwork techniques to calm the nervous system and promote a sense of presence.

  • Meditation practices to slow down, reflect and become more aware of emotional wellbeing.

  • Energy-awareness exercises to help participants recognise stress levels and regain a sense of balance and control.

Why wellbeing matters at work

Debbie Rymer, Head of Marketing & Enterprise, explained why events like this are such an important part of the Connect Her programme:

“When I was mentoring Shauna and Jenny through the Go Succeed programme, I saw first-hand the impact of the work they were doing and knew that Space to Breathe would resonate strongly with the women in our Connect HER network.

So many women are balancing the demands of running businesses, building careers and caring for their families, often leaving little time for themselves. Today's event highlighted just how important it is to step away from that busyness, take time to reflect and invest in your own wellbeing and personal development.

Space to Breathe struck a real chord and reinforced an important message: taking time to pause isn't stepping away from success, it's often the very thing that makes success sustainable.

Supporting working women across the Causeway Coast

This workshop is just one example of Connect Her's wider mission to empower and support women. As well as fostering business growth, career development and professional connections, Connect Her recognises the importance of wellbeing in helping women thrive.

Through regular Connect Her events, Enterprise Causeway brings together female entrepreneurs, professionals and women in the workplace to connect, learn and support one another. The result is a growing community where authentic conversations, new opportunities and lasting relationships can take shape. Participants left feeling refreshed, more confident in managing life's daily demands, and encouraged by the sense of community and connection shared throughout the event.
