We are seeking an experienced, driven and commercially minded Senior Business Advisor to join our Business Support Team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering the highly successful Go Succeed Programme, alongside a portfolio of local, regional and externally funded mentoring, business support and enterprise development initiatives.
As a Senior Business Advisor, you will provide tailored one-to-one mentoring and advisory support to individuals considering self-employment and those in the early stages of business development. This includes helping clients assess the viability of their business ideas, develop business plans, create financial forecasts, identify funding opportunities, establish effective sales and marketing strategies, navigate regulatory requirements, and build the skills, knowledge and confidence needed to successfully launch and grow their business.
In addition, you will help plan, coordinate and deliver a range of business events, workshops, masterclasses and networking opportunities, managing stakeholder engagement and participant experience to maximise attendance, satisfaction and programme outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Through the Go Succeed programme and other enterprise initiatives, you will support entrepreneurs to turn ideas into sustainable, successful businesses.
The successful candidate will:
Deliver the Go Succeed Start Programme locally, supporting participant engagement and contributing to the achievement of agreed targets and outcomes.
Deliver mentoring, business advice and enterprise support to pre-start, start-up and early-stage businesses through one-to-one support, workshops and business development programmes.
Support the delivery of workshops, networking events, masterclasses and business support activities to maximise participant engagement and programme outcomes.
Monitor and report on programme activity, outputs and KPIs, identifying and escalating issues to support successful delivery.
Contribute to programme evaluation through the collection of participant feedback, case studies and impact data.
Build and maintain strong relationships with Enterprise Northern Ireland, Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council, programme managers, funders, strategic partners and key stakeholders.
Represent Enterprise Causeway at networking events, business forums and promotional activities.
Support the continuous development and improvement of Enterprise Causeway's business support services.
Contribute to programme development, funding bids and new business support initiatives.
About You
We are looking for an individual who combines strong commercial awareness with a genuine passion for supporting entrepreneurs and business growth.
Essential Criteria
You will have:
A third-level qualification in Business, Management, Finance, Marketing or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
At least 5 years' experience providing business support, consultancy, mentoring or advisory services.
Experience working with start-ups, SMEs, community groups, social enterprises or early growth businesses.
Experience delivering business or community support programmes, projects or initiatives.
Strong knowledge of business planning, finance, sales, marketing and growth strategies.
Excellent communication, presentation and relationship-building skills.
Proven experience planning and delivering successful events or networking programmes for businesses, entrepreneurs or community organisations.
The ability to engage confidently with clients, stakeholders and funding bodies.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and CRM/database systems.
Access to transport suitable for the requirements of the role.
Full driver’s licence and access to own transport.
Able to work flexible hours.
Willing to be Access NI checked.
Eligible to work in UK
Desirable Criteria
It would be advantageous to have:
Experience delivering support through Go Succeed, Invest NI or other publicly funded business or community programmes.
Experience supporting social enterprises or community-based organisations.
Experience preparing funding applications, tender submissions or programme proposals.
General
Undertake routine office duties associated administration.
Comply with all established procedures including the Employee Code of Conduct.
Implement Enterprise Causeway’s statutory responsibilities and procedures in respect to insurance, employment, equal opportunities, child / vulnerable adult protection, data protection, security, health & safety, and other appropriate areas.
The postholder will be expected to be flexible and adaptable to meet the changing needs and requirements of the organisation.
